Baehr Feet and no workout fo me today

Well peeps…after eating a bagel sandwich for breakfast, bbq for lunch and a whole lot of cereal as an afternoon snack I opted to make this Friday my “off” day…mainly because I don’t think my stomach could have handled being jiggled around.  I’m sort of glad I skipped the afternoon workout because I got to do a little shopping in the Burg.  I wanted a bunch of stuff at Baehr Feet…the store where one of my best friends, Lindsey works.  She showed me these Diego Di Lucca Rona wedges when they first came in, but they weren’t exactly in my non-profit salary price range…now they’re on sale!  I’m proud to say that I resisted the potential purchase…good job self.  They have a cobra skin leather upper that would look fabulous with any color and could be dressed up or down…I would wear them all the time if they were mine…but they aren’t…can’t have everything…

I also really wanted this Michael Kors Davenport leather wrap watch on the far left.

dear money fairy, please send me $225. thanks.

I love the others, especially the gold, but John says they look dumb on my wrist because they are so big…I’m not a rapper, I don’t need bling, whatever.  Baehr Feet also has Chan Luu wrap bracelets, which my friend Abby introduced me to in college (now she works for the designer in NCY…so cool).  Can’t go wrong with any of these:

price ranges from $90 - $195

 My fave right now:

Chan Luu Wrap Bracelet - Green and nude fabric weaved thread with gold filled beads and Indian aventurine faceted beads

They are having their semi-annual sale now and still have a bunch of good shoes left.  Oh and also, can we talk about the fact that it has been around 70 degrees all day today in the middle of July?!  Thank you weather man.  We’re going to attempt to try the new Cribb’s Kitchen for dinner tonight with Lindsey and Chad and I cannot wait – so much for giving the new place 2 weeks to get settled before trying it out…

Broadway Bagels

I would review our dinner last night at Miyako Shushi Group but I didn’t get anything exciting and to be honest, it really wasn’t as good as usual so I’m going to give them another chance before I talk about it in depth.  The 4 of us had a blast catching up though.

After dinner we went to have a drink and check out the new Cribb’s Kitchen.  It looks fabulous inside and holds 198 people, not including the outside patio…much bigger than the 25 or so the old one held!  We wanted to eat there, but they aren’t taking anymore reservations through Sunday (obviously the Burg is in desperate need of a new restaurant).  Yesterday was the grand opening and I cannot wait to try out lunch and dinner and let y’all know how it is.

This morning I had the chance to go to breakfast with my pops at Broadway Bagels.  You can never go wrong with this place!

egg whites on whole grain bagel with strawberry jelly

Of course, I added pepper and a little cholula hot sauce to my eggs.  The bagel was amazing and so was the strawberry jam.  I don’t know how their bagels are so good, but they are always fresh, fluffy and flavorful.  They have TONS of daily bagels to choose from: Plain, Everything, Onion, Garlic, Salt, Poppy, Sesame, Blueberry, Cheddar, Cinnamon Raisin, Cinnamon Sugar, Grain, and Honey Wheat – they also have special bagels each week that might be one of these: Jalapeno Monterey Jack, Chocolate Chip, Apple Cinnamon Walnut, Pumpernickel Rye, or Cranberry Pecan.  Oh and I can’t even say enough about their cream cheese.  I was trying to be healthy this morning so I didn’t even go there, but you should.  I like to get creative with my bagel/cream cheese options…maybe a cinnamon sugar bagel with honey butter or a chocolate chip bagel with walnut raisin cream cheese if I’m in the mood for sweet, or a jalapeno monterey jack bagel with vegetable cream cheese if I’m feeling adventurous.

You really have so many choices if you go for’s not just your average bagel place.  You can get breakfast sandwiches (which is what I did), breakfast platters, omelets, and sides – that include the BEST homefries.

Check out their Menu: they cater and have lunch too!

Price range for breakfast: can be anywhere from $1 to $7.25…I haven’t ever spent more than $4 though.

Hours of Operation: Mon – Fri: 6:30am – 2:00pm and Sat – Sun: 7:30am – 2:00pm

Location: Converse Plaza

The food comes out fast and the staff is always friendly.  There’s something on the menu for everyone…I’m a HUGE fan if you can’t tell.  I’ve never been for lunch though, so I’ll review that when the time comes.

I get to go out to lunch with my grandmother today too!  This whole family being in the same town thing works well for my restaurant reviewing…I don’t have to go broke trying out all the cool places :).
